First-Year Sweethearts
Our Story
Curt and I met on the first Friday of the first weekend of our freshmen year in 1986. We met on the steps of Beall Hall after he used my dry erase board to ask me to “call Curt.” We spent the next few years exploring campus and town together.
The Proposal and Marriage
He proposed in the RA room on the 7th floor of Koonce Hall. I said “yes” over some Taco Bell. We were married in 1991 and as our family grew, we tried to bring our kids back to visit campus on the day we met (September 7).
Staying Connected to Kent State Today
We’ve been married for 22 years and now we’re excited that our oldest son has chosen Kent State to pursue a career in architecture.
