KENT, Ohio – The 鶹ý College of Business Administration’s National Advisory Board welcomes Sandra Volpe, Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning, Communications and Contractor Relations for FedEx Ground. Volpe joined FedEx Ground in 2000 with more than 10 years of experience in financial planning and analysis. In 2007, she was promoted from Managing Director to Vice President of Strategic Finance. Her extensive knowledge of the financial world made her the ideal choice to become the Vice President of Strategic Planning in 2012 before assuming her current role in 2013.
Volpe is active in the industry and community, serving on the Board of Directors for Republic Services, Inc., an industry leader in U.S. recycling and non-hazardous solid waste. She is a member of the American Heart Association Affiliate Board and is the former Chair of the Board to the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Heart Association.
Volpe has received multiple awards throughout her career, including the prestigious FedEx Ground Five Star Award on three separate occasions and the FedEx Ground Leadership Award twice. She is the recipient of the Kent State College of Business Administration’s 2018 Spirit of Women in Business Award.
“The College of Business Administration is honored to welcome Sandra Volpe to the National Advisory Board,” said Deborah F. Spake, Ph.D., dean of the College of Business Administration. “Her leadership, community involvement and extensive financial knowledge will be valuable assets to the board.”
