Cooper Flora, a sophomore Aerospace Engineering major, serves as a great role model for students in his degree program and beyond. In addition to the challenging engineering major, the Medina, Ohio native pursues his passions through his minor in Digital Media Production.
On campus, Flora is a Resident Assistant in Tri-Towers, and enjoys the small program size of the aerospace engineering degree, sharing that his favorite thing about his Kent State experience is being so close with all of his classmates. Another thing that Flora loves about Kent State is the campus. “Campus was more green [than other universities that I visited] and overall attractive, a good distance from big cities.”
Flora spent the summer after his freshman year as an engineering intern at a plastics manufacturing company, learning skills he continues to use in his lab-based classes. Flora believes that his academic experience is unique to other students because “I got to build a drone, and cast liquid aluminum [in classes] within my program before my junior year.” When asked about advice to incoming students, Flora recommends that effectively managing your time includes treating your classes as a full time job, and everything else as a “once in a lifetime vacation.”
Cooper Flora hosted an Instagram Take-Over on Wednesday, February 22 on the CAE’s Instagram ()! Check out his take over in the “Highlights” on our Instagram page!
