2. License Preparation and Credentials: This program is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to obtain the Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license, Health Services Executive (HSE) credential, and Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) certificate. The program includes CDP training and online practice exams to prepare for licensure.
3. Application: The LTCA coursework is designed to encourage practical application and active learning throughout the curriculum. The program culminates in a 1,000-hour internship spread over two semesters. The LTCA program has established strong partnerships with both for-profit and non-profit organizations. The hands-on internship provides a valuable opportunity to gain first-hand experience in the field and to establish professional connections.
4. Faculty Connections: LTCA employs a dual advising system, where students receive guidance from both their academic and faculty advisors. Throughout their time in the program, students have frequent opportunities to connect with LTCA faculty to plan their coursework, explore career opportunities, and plan for life after graduation.
