Â鶹´«Ã½ Director of Athletics Joel Nielsen announced the reorganization of several administrative areas within the athletic department on July 22. The reorganization is among many steps the athletics department will implement as a part of its strategic vision "The Game Plan," announced earlier this year.
Greg Glaus has been promoted to senior associate athletic director and will now oversee all student-athlete support areas including: Academic Services, Student-Athlete Development, Sports Medicine, Sports Performance (previously Strength and Conditioning), NCAA Compliance and Equipment Services. Glaus also will provide administrative oversight for baseball and field hockey.
"Student-athlete well-being has been and will continue to be a priority for our department, and it directly supports the university's 'Students First' strategic priority," Nielsen says. "Greg has done outstanding work in this area, and we've been recognized nationally for our efforts. This new organizational structure will enhance efficiencies."
Other Game Plan-driven administrative moves in the department include:
- Bob Lemieux: Assistant athletic director for sports performance (previously director of strength and conditioning)
- Rhen Vail: Head basketball sports performance coach (previously strength and conditioning coach for football and other teams)
- Katie Schilling: Assistant director for student-athlete development (previously compliance coordinator)
- Brock Cline: Assistant director of the Golden Flashes Club (previously group sales manager)
- Amy Densevich: Associate director of Student-Athlete Academic Services (previously assistant director of Student-Athlete Academic Services)
- John Hardesty: Assistant director of football academics (previously athletic academic counselor)
