The Â鶹´«Ã½ Women’s Center and Office for Sexual and Relationship Violence Support Services are pleased to announce the expansion of their student internship program, with multiple openings available. The new coordinated internship program is open to all undergraduate and graduate students. The internship program will provide students with hands-on experience in a supportive environment and can be adjusted to meet their academic focus. Students will gain experience in social justice issues related to women’s equity, leadership, health and gender-based discrimination, and power-based personal violence (sexual assault, interpersonal violence and stalking).
Internship opportunities include:
- Program/event planning and development (prevention-based education and awareness)
- Fall programs include Take Back the Night, Clothesline Project, Dating Abuse Awareness Month, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
- Spring programs include The Sage Project; Mothers, Mentors and Muses; Walk a Mile in Their Shoes; Vagina Monologues; Women’s History Month and Sexual Assault Awareness Month
- Social justice initiatives (theme-based such as hunger and homelessness, women’s reproductive rights, international women, gender, sexual violence and intimate partner violence, etc.).
- Marketing and public relations (social media, Web-based and written communication)
- Graphic design
