Mary G. Parker Selected as Kent State’s Vice President for Enrollment Management

Experienced leader brings innovative approach to enrollment and student success strategies

Parker comes to Kent State from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where she served as associate vice president for enrollment management. She has significant experience in both admissions and enrollment, including more than 26 years of increasingly complex leadership roles in higher education. She joins Kent State on Jan. 16, 2019.

 

Dr. Parker will report directly to Kent State President Beverly J. Warren and will serve on the President’s Cabinet. Her charge is to develop an enhanced, centrally coordinated enrollment management initiative that will lead Kent State’s institutional effort to strengthen student recruitment and success at all levels across the university’s entire eight-campus system.

 

“I am confident that Dr. Parker is the right person to implement the type of innovative strategies and aggressive efforts that we need to strengthen our recruitment of outstanding students and to offer strategic support to all students as they endeavor to complete their degrees,” President Warren says.

 

Dr. Parker earned a Bachelor of Science degree in history and government and a Master of Education degree in educational counseling, both from Southeastern Louisiana University. She also earned an Executive Doctorate in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
