September 2022 Edition of Inside Equal Access

A NOTE FROM THE EDITORS: FALL IS IN THE AIR!
Welcome back to campus, Flashes Family! Over the summer, we've redesigned webpages, created trainings, and written fresh articles to make learning simpler.
STUDENTS: Check out "Olivia's Story" and "IEP vs. Accommodations" below. Review and share our .
STAFF: We've opened ALL trainings to students and guests, as well as employees. So have your team sign up and we'll get everyone educated on creating accessible content.
FACULTY: Check out the For Faculty page that we built just for you! Also, share the Equal Access Academy trainings with your classes- they'll gain invaluable professional skills. Maybe build a module around one or incentivize their attendance.
You can find specialized help on a variety of topics at Equal Access Help Topics. We launch two new trainings this semester: Creating Accessible Courses in Canvas and Writing Accessible Code, taught by subject matter experts from three different divisions. This brings our number of unique, subject-specific trainings in the Equal Access Academy to TWELVE; many offered twice in each semester. Hope to see you soon!
If you're a student, staff or faculty member who is passionate about our content and have experience with journalistic writing or web design, please consider volunteering as a writer or digital editor. Paid, hourly positions and internship opportunities available for students. Please email EqualAccess@kent.edu if interested.
