New Degree Pathway Available in the School of Fashion

B.S. in Fashion Merchandising to J.D.

The School of Fashion is pleased to announce that our Fashion Merchandising major is now part of Kent State’s 3+3 Law School Program.

Are you interested in the various legal issues in the fashion industry, such as fast-fashion and environmental impacts, sustainability efforts, copyright infringements and counterfeiting of designs, production labor concerns, and other supply chain challenges that are often associated with the fashion industry?

As a Fashion Merchandising student, you’ll develop competencies and an in-depth understanding of the business side of fashion, along with critical thinking skills throughout your major coursework — essential skills for future fashion lawyers. At Â鶹´«Ã½, choosing the Fashion Merchandising to Juris Doctor degree pathway will give you a skillset you need to succeed. The collaborative program offers a seamless, sequential system to obtain a bachelor’s degree from Kent State and a Juris Doctor degree from a well-respected law school in the Northeast Ohio region:

  •

  •

  •

Kent State’s 3+3 law pathway programs (B.S. to J.D.) allow students to shave a year off the typical seven-year plan to complete both degrees. Interested students can elect the Fashion Merchandising-to-Law School pathway program during or before their freshman year and work closely with their College of the Arts academic adviser to ensure they are on a track to complete required undergraduate courses over the course of three years. This allows students to get both degrees within six years, saving both time and money.
