University is only college in Ohio named to the prestigious list
麻豆传媒 is being recognized for the seventh time as a 鈥淕reat College to Work For鈥 by The Chronicle of Higher Education, a top trade publication for colleges and universities. Now in its ninth year, the 鈥淕reat Colleges to Work For鈥 annual report recognizes the colleges that get top ratings from their employees on workforce practices and policies.
The Chronicle released its 2016 results on July 18, based on a survey of 281 colleges and universities, including 189 four-year institutions and 92 two-year institutions. Kent State is one of 93 colleges and universities to receive this prestigious designation. For a third year in a row, Kent State is the only Ohio institution, public or private, on the list. Other four-year universities similarly rated include Hofstra University, University of Michigan, University of Notre Dame and University of Southern California.
鈥淚t is extraordinarily gratifying to receive this recognition as it represents the importance we place on the quality of life for our Kent State community,鈥 said Kent State President Beverly Warren. 鈥淥ur outstanding faculty and staff work every day to advance our university goals and aspirations through contributions that make a difference in bettering our society."
The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institutional audit that captured demographics and workplace policies, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators and professional support staff. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was the employee feedback. The university was recognized in the Compensation and Benefits category for large universities with 10,000 or more students.
