After the initial placement, if students feel they should be placed in a higher level English course, they have an opportunity to challenge their initial placement. If you want to be in the course that will help you most, you need to know the purposes of the different courses, how you are initially placed in a course on the basis of the chart located at the link above, and how you can challenge that placement if you think it is inaccurate.
If you wish to challenge your writing placement:
Step 1. Log into FlashLine from http://www.kent.edu
Please type in the Search Box (found at the top) : Writing Challenge or Placement Assessment
(if not found move to Step 2)
Step 2. Under Student Resources, select Placement Assessments
Step 3. Under Placement Assessments, Chose Writing Challenge Placement Assessment
