Meet Adam Newborn, a 2022-2023 Graduate Dean's Award recipient. Adam is a Theatre and Dance master's student majoring in Acting.
What made you choose to pursue your graduate degree here at Kent State?
I believe that Kent State has such an incredible curriculum to take me to the next level not only as an actor but as a teacher.
What do you enjoy most about attending Kent State for graduate school?
I am excited to be on the same grounds as so many before me. It truly is an honor to go to such a prestigious school. And I am very aware of how fortunate I am.
What are your future goals?
My hope is to run or be on the board of a Theatre company as well as teach at a university. The arts are so important to so many and to be a piece of that joy would be such an honor.
What does this award mean to you and how will it aid you
It means so much! When Courtney Brown informed me of the great news I broke down and cried. So many times I have been looked over or not even considered. So winning this award was not only a joy it was confirming that I am exactly where I need to be!
