Review Process

The Review Committee will consist of sub-committees made up of members of the University Research Council (URC) and Â鶹´«Ã½ faculty members from the pertinent disciplines. The sub-committees will make written recommendations based on rubrics developed by URC for each discipline cluster, namely the sciences, the humanities and the arts.

Once the sub-committees have met and made their recommendations, the full URC will convene to discuss the merits of the top candidates. After reviewing the recommendations of discipline-based sub-committees, the URC will select 2-4 candidates (two candidates for the Outstanding New Faculty Research and Scholarship Award) to receive awards based on rankings and make recommendations to the Vice President for Research and Sponsored Programs for final approval.

Individuals who choose to nominate and be nominated (including those on the University Research Council) are not permitted to serve on the Review Committee.
