Rebecca Elder
Biography
Rebecca Elder, M.S.I.S., has been an adjunct instructor for Kent State’s iSchool since 2017. She teaches in the pathway of Cultural Heritage Informatics for the MLIS program. She frequently teaches LIS 60654 Preservation and Conservation of Heritage Materials. In addition to teaching at Kent State, she has been teaching at The University of Texas at Austin’s School of Information for ten years.
Rebecca is an experienced cultural heritage preservation consultant. She collaborates with libraries, museums, archives, municipalities and families to tailor preservation plans to their resources and timelines. In 2014, she founded Rebecca Elder Cultural Heritage Preservation to provide preservation advice to clients holding history collections. Rebecca received her M.S.I.S and a Certificate of Advanced Studies for Conservation of Library and Archival Materials from the School of Information at the University of Texas at Austin. Rebecca is a Professional Associate member of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works. She lives in Austin, TX.
