Emily Butz is a junior music education and music performance major with an anticipated graduation date of fall 2022. While she can't wait to help develop music skills in students of all ages, her ambitions go beyond that.
"My biggest goal for my teaching career is to be able to inspire students with music," Emily said.
Emily is also a grateful recipient of the Elizabeth Fennell Founders Scholarship in Music, created through a planned gift to Kent State.
"I am honored to be a recipient of this scholarship," she said. "Scholarships allow me to further my education in music and performance, and receiving this support motivates me to complete my education and give back to the community whenever possible."
Even now, Emily has already started to pay it forward as she participates in many organizations and ensembles and is doing what she can to give back to the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music.
