Former Golden Flash Julian Edelman Shows his Pride for the Blue and Gold on Instagram

Julian Edelman is at it again.

The former Golden Flash and Super Bowl LIII MVP again showed his Kent State pride on social media by sporting a university shirt during a .

Edelman said he鈥檚 been surfing social media, saw all the challenges going around and decided he wanted to take matters into his own hands by creating his own #NerfHouseChallenge. While taking aim at his camera with a nerf gun, Edelman proudly supported his alma mater by wearing a Golden Flashes shirt.

Edelman regularly boasts his Golden Flash pride both on social media and in his role as a receiver for the New England Patriots. Every practice, he proudly wears his 鈥

Edelman also embraced Kent State on social media in 2019, when he returned to campus to graduate at the One University Commencement Ceremony earning his Bachelor of Integrative Studies degree.

鈥淓arning my degree from Kent means a lot to me,鈥 Edelman said during his address at Commencement. 鈥淭his is one of my first parts of my journey where it all started. Getting here and having my parents here and my family to witness this is one of the first goals that I had going into my young adult life. So, to be able to come here and fulfill that, it鈥檚 unbelievable.鈥

Edelman was a three-year starter at quarterback for the Flashes from 2006 to 2008. Over his decorated three-year career at Kent State, Edelman amassed almost 5,000 yards through the air and 7,480 total yards. During his senior year, he broke Josh Cribbs鈥 single season total yards record that was set in 2003 while amassing 3,190 total yards and 26 total touchdowns.

He was eventually drafted in the seventh round of the 2009 draft by the Patriots. Throughout his NFL career, Edelman has won three Super Bowls and was named Super Bowl LII MVP when New England defeated the Los Angeles Rams.
