Assistant Dean of Special Initiatives in the College of Communication and Information
I originally came to Â鶹´«Ã½ to study a specific program that was well-recognized in the region and would set me up for career success. Throughout my undergraduate program, I slowly realized that it wasn’t the career for me and needed to change directions. Coming to Kent State was the first time in my life that I was able to branch out of my small town and meet people from all over the world that reflected diverse identities and experiences. Attending college at Kent State was life-changing for me, and I realized the impact that higher education can make in the lives of students who are part of marginalized communities. This experience made me want to work in higher education in the DEI&B space to be able to help others cultivate an authentic sense of belonging and grow personally and professionally from their interactions with people who are different from them. Kent State’s commitment to Students First and You Belong Here have inspired me to continue my career here for almost a decade.
