The Economic Policy Institute presented the final results of its study on the e-governance on the biggest Bulgarian municipalities at a press conference which was held on March 24, 2015 at the Press Center of the National Palace of Culture. The event was part of the project implemented by the Economic Policy Institute in partnership with E-governance Institute, New Jersey and with the kind financial support of the U.S. Embassy in Sofia.
The event was opened by Yasen Georgiev, Executive Director of the Economic Policy Institute andTammy B. Paltchikov, Educational and Cultural Attaché at the Embassy of the United States in Sofia. Afterwards, the methodology of the report was presented by Dr. James Melitski, Department of Public and Nonprofit Administration, Marist College (Poughkeepsie, NY/USA) and Dr. Aroon Manoharan, 鶹ý (OH/USA). This methodology was used by the Economic Policy Institute as a basis for conducting the national study. The Bulgarian team developed additional benchmark criteria aiming at reflecting in greater details the country specifics in terms of administrative set-up and legislation.
