Â鶹´«Ã½ at Salem’s City Center received the 2016 Sunflower Award from the Salem Beautification Committee through the Salem Chamber of Commerce for the third consecutive year. The award is given based on the upkeep of the building, including clean windows, neatly maintained entryways and sidewalks, as well as an aesthetically pleasing facade.
The City Center building is the former Salem High School and has been part of the city’s history for almost 100 years. It not only houses classrooms and a computer lab for Kent State students, but it also accommodates the Salem City Health Department, the Hannah Mullins School of Practical Nursing, the Columbiana County Board of Developmental Disabilities and the Creative Learning Center: The Story Book Museum Re-Created.
