To kick off the New Year, the spring semester and help get Kent State students back into the fun and excitement of on-campus events, the Center for Student Involvement has created a prize promotion around university events during the first week of the semester, Jan. 13-18. In collaboration with campus partners including, Kent State of Well-Being, KSU Ice Arena, the Student Leadership Center and the Flash Activities Board (FAB), this back-to-school activity offers students a chance to win one of 50+ Kent State tumblers.
A Warm, Winter Welcome
鈥淲e are doing a spring welcome of sorts,鈥 Joe Robinson, assistant director, Campus Connection and Traditions in Kent State鈥檚 Division of Student Life told Kent State Today. 鈥淭he goal is to motivate students to get involved in the first week with the thinking that it will set the tone for them from an involvement standpoint for the rest of the semester. To incentivize attendance, we created an activity where if students attend at least four of the 11 events, they will be entered automatically into a raffle for up to 50 KSU tumblers. We did a similar activity in August for KSU Kickoff.鈥
Across the university, departments, divisions and organizations collaborate to create events and activities that encourage engagement and growth while providing opportunities to make friends and network as part of a well-rounded university experience.
How the Prize Drawing Works
The 11 qualifying on-campus events from Jan. 13-18 include athletic competitions with basketball games and wrestling events, a leadership workshop, a Wellness Wednesday, a skate night and FAB events, like Disney Trivia and WinterBlast.
Students who wish to participate in the drawing for the tumbler should make sure to bring their FLASHcards to all non-athletics events that are part of this spring welcome, in order to check in. For athletic competitions on the schedule, students will need to bring a FLASHcard and claim a free ticket online in advance by using this .
Students who check in and attend at least four of the 11 events included in this spring welcome schedule will be entered to win an exclusive Kent State tumbler. There will be up to, if not more, 50 tumbler winners.
To enter the drawing, students just need to check in, using their FLASHcards at the specified events. The Center for Student Involvement will facilitate the drawing of winners based on attendance data. Winners will be announced during the week of January 21st.
