鶹ý School of Fashion student Kaleigh McGreal (photo, right) assisted in the making of the collection as well as putting on the show for the premiere of New York City designer Victor de Souza’s (photo, left) inaugural bridal collection. The April runway show took place at the Vartali Salon in Manhattan as part of New York’s Bridal Fashion Week.
Argentinian-born de Souza is a New York local whose “Conscious Couture” designs are created to reflect a lifestyle that is committed to beauty and integrity as well as conscious production. McGreal is a junior fashion design major from Parma Heights, Ohio, studying at Kent State’s New York City Fashion campus. Some of her projects have focused on sustainability in food and in fashion. McGreal is currently interning at Partow US, designer Nellie Partow’s New York-based apparel and fashion company.
McGreal assisted de Souza with the collection from its creation to its debut on the runway and was credited in the show’s program, which also featured a 鶹ý logo.
Kent State New York City Fashion
Kent State’s NYC Fashion campus is one of 鶹ý’s School of Fashion’s study away options. Their program allows students to “get busy with your future now,” with courses taught by fashion industry professionals and opportunities to network in New York City’s international hub of fashion.
Students can study fashion design, fashion merchandising and fashion journalism. The campus offers full semester and summer academic programs, allowing students to study when it’s best for them. As part of the program, students have the opportunity to engage in an internship at one of New York City’s well-known fashion or fashion-related companies.
