Student pilots and flight instructors who are members of the 2023-2024 Â鶹´«Ã½ Flight Team are preparing for competition season, which begins next month. This year's competing team will feature the greatest number of female team members in Kent State history.
Last year, the team scored wins in an impressive number of regional and national competitions. The team competes as a member of the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA) in Regional and National Safety and Flight Evaluation Conferences (SAFECON). At these events, we are put up against the best collegiate aviation schools in the country.
Kent State is located in NIFA's Region III, considered to be the strongest region in the country being home to Ohio State University, Ohio University, Western Michigan University, and Bowling Green State University. Nationally, Kent State's Flight Team will travel to a chosen host school to compete in Flying and Ground events against 25 other schools.
