The hope of the event organizers in was that attendees would “carry a piece of the world back home with you.”
The Kent State International Talent and Fashion Show presented a rich celebration of global traditions through a fusion of sights, sounds and tastes. There were spectacular performances on stage as well as opportunities to sample Kenyan, Nigerian and Indian cuisines.
The event was staged in the Kent Student Center Ballroom. Its fashion show featured participants proudly donning their countries’ traditional costumes to share their heritage. In a Facebook post, the event organizers wrote, “Each embroidered thread, each bead and each vibrant hue spoke volumes about identity, pride and unity. The runway became a bridge connecting distant lands and the audience reveled in this cross-country exchange.”
Connecting Kent State’s Worldwide Family
Kent State International Admissions extended gratitude for everyone who attended and said, “The laughter, the applause; it was the universal language of happiness.”
They especially thanked the participants “for weaving magic into our hearts. You are not just students; you are the threads that bind Kent State’s family across continents and time zones.”
