To honor and celebrate the work and dedication of Dorothy B. Lutsch, an emeritus professor of music at Â鶹´«Ã½ at Tuscarawas, a scholarship to benefit Kent State Tuscarawas students majoring in music, theater or art has been established.
The scholarship, named the Dorothy B. Lutsch Fine & Performing Arts Memorial Scholarship, will promote the development of music and art majors and the appreciation and importance of the arts in our culture.
Mrs. Lutsch graduated from Â鶹´«Ã½ in 1964 with a Master of Education from the College of Education, Health and Human Services. Mrs. Lutsch was known for her love of music, the arts and education. She was also remembered for the creation of the annual Renaissance Festival at the Tuscarawas campus to celebrate art and literature under the influence of classical models in the 14th–16th centuries. Mrs. Lutsch was also active with Trumpet in the Land and her local church choirs. She frequently lectured on Moravian history.
