Patricia Robinson, Ph.D.
Biography
Patty has more than 15 years of experience working in higher education and has served over two decades championing educational opportunities for individuals aspiring to pursue post-secondary education.
Position
Since May 2022, Patty has been the University Outreach and Engagement evaluation and grants project director, advancing the mission of college accessibility. Her responsibilities include grant writing, building project infrastructure of grant awards, monitoring data outcomes, reporting, and strategizing for continuous improvement. Patty's multifaceted professional journey, academic pursuits, and existing role underscore her commitment to advocating for the educational landscape.
Experience
Patty began her Kent State tenure working with TRIO Upward Bound Public Health/Health Professions and Math Science college access programs, serving in multiple roles including director and principal investigator. Before joining Kent State, Patty had professional experiences with high school and college admissions, career advising, job placement, and program development in roles with The University of Akron, Medina County Career Center, Jobs for Ohio's Graduates, and Akron Children’s Hospital, as well as entrepreneurial ventures. Her efforts have supported historically excluded groups through her passion for inclusive practices. As a first-generation college graduate, she intimately understands the challenges and triumphs of breaking new educational ground.
