Katie Carpenter, Visual Communication Design
Internship: Fuse Branding Company
I really love meeting with the clients and pitching my graphics. It is so exciting when they love what you made and getting to actually see it in production.”
Through her internship with Fuse Branding Company, based out of Arizona, Katie Carpenter has been able to collaborate with design professionals all over the world. The internship is remote, but she’s gotten to pitch in, in many ways: designing a logo for a brand launch, creating a style guide, editing photos and more.
Visual Communication Design courses prepared her for the experience, especially lessons in typography and web design. She’s learned a bit about what she wants out of a future career, too: “I definitely want to stay on the people end of things ... I really love meeting with the clients and pitching my graphics. It is so exciting when they love what you made and getting to actually see it in production.”
“What I enjoyed most about my internship is getting to talk with design professionals from all over the world and designing something that could be universally understood and loved,” Katie says. “Getting to work alongside business owners and being able to bring their business (to life) as an intern is truly an amazing opportunity that I am ecstatic about!”
