Hi, Drupalites,
We hope you’re enjoying the early part of your summer. Our last Drupalites listserv newsletter brought you up to speed on the key takeaway about the university’s web redesign effort – and we let you know that more concrete details would be sent as soon as possible. We look forward to working with the university’s undeniably talented webmasters to make this redesign a smooth, successful transition.
REDESIGN DATED REQUEST: Select Your New Brand-Aligned Home Page Elements by July 19!
Although the new web site launch isn’t until fall, the time for you to make your home page selections is now so that we can prioritize the redesign team's work. By Tuesday, July 19, the Kent State redesign team needs you and your team to choose your department’s new home page template and elements via the University Communications and Marketing (UCM) web site’s newly launched Web Redesign Resources section and the online form you will access there.
This new section of the UCM web site allows you to:
- Review the university wide redesign presentation slide deck
- Scan the high-level timeline
Scroll to the “Design Your Home Page” portion of the page, where you will:
- View department website templates and modules
- Submit your department website template and module selections via our online intake form
- Sign up for template selection intake sessions, if need assistance (we are offering two per week starting next week through July 19)
- Sign up for home page rebuild review sessions (upon UCM invitation only to ensure your site is ready for review)
Please note: The redesign team will begin building department home pages in mid-August and continue through early October. You will be notified when work on your website begins and also made aware of a tentative review date.
NEW DRUPAL FEATURE: Say “Hello” to Catalog Style
When creating a numbered list in Drupal, the line label does not change in a logical way as the hierarchy changes. This format is confusing to users. The new catalog style developed by UCM creates a logical label for each line number. Learn how to add this feature to numbered lists on your site.
If you have any questions, please contact Lin Danes at ldanes@kent.edu offline so that she can triage the inquiry and route to the appropriate team member for a timely response.
