Melillo pose for a photo during OCPM's 2012 Glass Slipper Fete. The Glass Slipper Fete—OCPM’s hall of fame induction ceremony— brought together alumni and friends of the college, including administrators from OCPM and Kent State, and featured fine food and drinks, a silent auction and raffles, and music by The Bottom Line. Auctioned items included dream vacations, shopping sprees, jewelry, fur coats and more. Funds raised during the event benefit the OCPM Student Scholarship Fund.

This year, the college inducted three alumni into its Hall of Fame Society. The inductees were Allan M. Boike, DPM, ’82, Jerauld D. Ferritto, DPM, ’76, and Michael J. King, DPM, ’83. All three acknowledged the role of OCPM in helping to launch their careers and expressed gratitude to the college for their induction.

“It is indeed an honor to even be mentioned in the same sentence with the current members of the OCPM Hall of Fame Society. I am truly humbled by the nomination,” says Boike.

“I frequently remind myself that I would not be able to enjoy the professional life I've had were it not for the work of my academic and clinical instructors at OCPM. I will be forever thankful for their help in my development as a podiatrist…to be nominated for this status is truly an honor,” Ferritto stated.

“I am duly honored and touched to be nominated for the Hall of Fame of the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. I feel blessed that I was able to matriculate at OCPM and was afforded the best podiatric medical education available. As a native Ohioan, I am proud to have attended OCPM and proud it continues to flourish,” King says.

The first Glass Slipper Fete took place in 2004 and has since become a college tradition. This year’s event was sponsored by more than 260 individuals, comprised of alumni, donors, friends, and organizations.

The Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine will become the 鶹ý College of Podiatric Medicine in summer 2012.
