Virtual networking over lunch in - Engage with colleagues during a guided tour of the Topia spatial media platform and brainstorm ways for creating learning experiences in the metaverse
Onsite breakout sessions include opportunities to:
- Discover promising examples of XR technology integration presented by fellow K12 educators and teacher education faculty who are currently using XR in their own settings.
- Gain hands-on experience with a variety of tools and technologies for making and immersive learning, including MERGE Cubes, CoSpaces, Oculus Quest 2, Vuzix smart glasses, RayBan Stories, ClassVR, ThingLink, Google Arts & Culture, 360 Cameras (e.g., Insta360, Ricoh Theta), and more.
- Participate in a think tank discussion with fellow conference attendees to collaboratively develop an action plan for effectively integrating XR in your own educational settings.
- Explore model spaces for innovation and immersive learning including the DI REACTOR, a multi-faceted makerspace environment, and the Blank_Lab, a "black box" environment for investigating collaborative experiences that bridge the scope of augmented, virtual, and extended reality technologies.
Contact Hours and Graduate Credit
Participants who attend the full-day onsite conference can earn a certificate for 6 contact hours or opt to earn one graduate workshop credit hour. Please note there is a $162 tuition fee for the credit hour, and participants must complete a post-conference assignment.
- If you are pursuing the credit hour, you must register for both the conference (see link above) and the credit hour workshop (see link below). Registration for the credit hour workshop must be completed online by Friday, March 11, 2022 at 11:59 pm.
- Payment for the $162 credit hour tuition is due March 25, 2022. Online payment directions will be sent in a confirmation email sent upon submission of the registration form.
