Special Education Licensure Preparation
Non-degree Graduate Licensure Preparation Programs include coursework required to be licensed as a special education teacher/intervention specialist in the State of Ohio. They are designed for post baccalaureate students who: (1) have completed an undergraduate degree in a field other than special education and are now seeking licensure in special education/intervention specialist (Initial Licensure Programs) or (2) have a teaching license in a field other than special education and are now seeking licensure in special education/intervention specialist (Additional Licensure Programs).
We offer Graduate Licensure Preparation in 4 concentration areas; Deaf Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Mild/Moderate Needs, and Moderate/Intensive Needs.
Deaf Education
Deaf Education Initial Licensure Preparation - The Deaf Education Initial Licensure Preparation program prepares students to become licensed teachers of deaf and hard of hearing students.
Deaf Education Additional Licensure Preparation - The Deaf Education Additional Licensure Preparation program is designed for educators who already have a teaching license and want to add licensure in Deaf Education.
Early Childhood (PK-5) Special Education
Early Childhood (PK-5) Initial Licensure Preparation - The Early Childhood (PK-5) Initial Licensure Preparation program prepares students to become licensed special education teachers for young children, providing the knowledge and skills necessary to create effective learning environments for all students.
Early Childhood (PK-5) Additional Licensure Preparation - The Special Education Early Childhood PK-5 Additional Licensure Preparation program is designed for educators who already have a teaching license. This program will provide you with the knowledge and skills to become a licensed special education teacher prepared to work with young children with disabilities or developmental delays in inclusive settings.
Mild/Moderate Needs
Mild/Moderate Needs Initial Licensure Preparation - The Mild/Moderate Needs Initial Licensure Preparation program prepares students to become licensed teachers of students with mild/moderate learning needs.
Mild/Moderate Needs Additional Licensure Preparation - The Mild-Moderate Needs Additional Licensure Preparation program is designed for educators who already have a teaching license and want to add licensure in mild/moderate needs.
Moderate/Intensive Needs
Moderate/Intensive Needs Initial Licensure Preparation - The Moderate to Intensive Needs Initial Licensure Preparation program prepares students to become licensed teachers of students with moderate/intensive learning needs.
Moderate/Intensive Needs Additional Licensure Preparation - The Moderate-Intensive Needs Additional Licensure Preparation program is designed for educators who already have a teaching license and want to add licensure in moderate/intensive needs.
Professional Licensure Disclosure
Non-degree Graduate Licensure Preparation Programs are designed to prepare students to apply for licensure or certification in Ohio.
