Admissions Process
All admissions to graduate programs in the College of Education, Health and Human Services are handled through Graduate Admissions. The application process is online; other forms associated with admissions can be obtained through EHHS Graduate Student Services.
Any hard copy materials submitted should be mailed to the Division of Graduate Studies, Cartwright Hall, 650 Hilltop Dr., Â鶹´«Ã½, Kent, OH 44242 USA.

Admission to the Master's Program
Master’s Degree applicants must have completed a bachelor's degree. Admission requirements include:
- A completed application form.
- A goal statement describing in detail the applicant's reasons for seeking a master’s degree in Educational Technology.
- Official transcripts for all prior coursework.
- An undergraduate grade point average of at least 2.75.
- Two professional letters of recommendation.
Students whose undergraduate GPAs are below 2.75 can be admitted on probation; they must earn a letter grade of at least B- in each of their first three courses before they can continue with the program.
Admission to the Doctoral Program
To be admitted to the doctoral program in Curriculum and Instruction, the applicant must already hold a master’s degree. Please indicate on the application that you are applying for the Concentration in Educational Technology. The basic criteria for admission include:
- A completed application form.
- A goal statement describing the applicant's reasons for seeking the doctoral degree.
- Official transcripts for all prior coursework.
- A master’s-level grade point average of at least 2.75.
- Two professional letters of recommendation.
- An interview, in person, by telephone, or by video, with one or more faculty members in Educational Technology.
Admission to the Non-Degree Graduate Endorsement Programs
The Educational Technology program offers two non-degree graduate endorsements: Computer/Technology Endorsement and Computer Science Endorsement. Endorsement applicants must have completed a master’s degree. Admission requirements include:
- A completed application form
- Master’s degree in education or another appropriate field from an accredited institution
- Minimum 2.75 GPA on a 4.000 point scale (last degree)
- Official transcripts for all prior coursework
- A goal statement describing in detail the applicant's reasons for seeking an endorsement
- Evidence of a valid Ohio teaching license
- Two letters of recommendation from academic and professional references
Students whose GPAs are below 2.75 can be admitted on probation; they must earn a letter grade of at least B- in each of their first three courses before they can continue with the program.
International Admissions
The fully online Educational Technology Master's and EdD degrees are accepting applications from international students. However, because of U.S. Homeland Security restrictions on the number of online course credits that can be taken each semester by students on a foreign visa, international applicants can only take these programs from their home country.
Tuition Costs
Currently the cost of tuition per graduate credit hour at Â鶹´«Ã½ for AY 2022-2023 is:
- In-state (Ohio): $549.90
- Online students pay the in-state tuition plus $10/credit hour
