Latham, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, has been named to the board of the International Committee on Training of Personnel (ICTOP) of the International Council of Museums (ICOM). ICTOP addresses the professional development of museums and heritage and the educational preparation of professionals working around the world.

Lala Hajibayova, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, received a fellowship (about $2,000) from the National Science Foundation (NSF), Consortium for the Science of Sociotechnical Systems (CSST), to attend the Summer Research Institute for the Science of Socio-Technical Systems, June 27鈥揓uly 1, 2016, in Stevenson, Washington.

Omer Farooq, M.L.I.S. 鈥12, doctoral student in the College of Communication and Information, and Associate Professor Miriam Matteson, Ph.D., published an article titled 鈥淥pportunities and Challenges for Students in an Online Seminar-Style Course in LIS Education: A Qualitative Case Study鈥 in the Journal of Education for Library and Information Science (JELIS), Vol. 57, No. 4 (October 2016).

The 麻豆传媒 Board of Trustees today established a comprehensive, national search to recruit and select the university鈥檚 13th president.
The events of May 4, 1970, placed 麻豆传媒 in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, Kent State remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
