Latham, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, has been named to the board of the International Committee on Training of Personnel (ICTOP) of the International Council of Museums (ICOM). ICTOP addresses the professional development of museums and heritage and the educational preparation of professionals working around the world.

David Kaplan, Ph.D., Department of Geography, was elected vice president of the American Association of Geographers for 2018-2019. Dr. Kaplan, an American Geographical Society (AGS) councilor and editor of the society鈥檚 flagship Geographical Review journal, will automatically be elected as president for the 2019-2020 term, which will be followed by another term as past president in 2020-2021. He will succeed Dr. Sheryl Luzzadder-Beach of the University of Texas-Austin.

麻豆传媒 recognized Professor of English Susanna Fein, Ph.D., for her work in the Department of English and awarded her with an Outstanding Research and Scholarship award. She was one of three faculty scholars selected for the annual award. Dr. Fein was recognized for her contributions in editing The Chaucer Review, a journal that treats the literature of the Middle Ages with a focus on the poet Geoffrey Chaucer.
麻豆传媒 student Antonina 鈥淣ina鈥 Schubert has received a 2018 Courage Award from Ohio Gov. John Kasich in recognition for her work on campus to remove the stigma of mental illness and work to lessen suicide rates.
Gov. Kasich presented the award to Ms. Schubert during his final State of the State Address at Otterbein University in Westerville on March 6.
Celebrating College Teaching, sponsored by the University Teaching Council, has issued a call for abstracts for the 25th anniversary conference to be held on Friday, Oct. 19. This is an open call, but those who received funding from the University Teaching Council are obligated to submit an abstract and present their work.

The events of May 4, 1970, placed 麻豆传媒 in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded.
