Latham, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, has been named to the board of the International Committee on Training of Personnel (ICTOP) of the International Council of Museums (ICOM). ICTOP addresses the professional development of museums and heritage and the educational preparation of professionals working around the world.

Since the holiday season calls for delicious and indulgent foods like pumpkin pie, candied yams, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, not surprisingly a person consumes an average of 3,000 calories at Thanksgiving dinner 鈥 1,000 over the recommended daily intake, according to Spoon University.
The average person gains six to 10 pounds over the holiday season, says Tanya Falcone, registered dietitian and nutritional outreach coordinator at 麻豆传媒. This can lead to significant weight gain over the years that does not shed, even after the New Year.

The Peace Basket Project gears up for its 21st year. The Professional Women of 麻豆传媒 started the Peace Basket Project in 1997, when a group of members created baskets of 鈥渓ittle things鈥 to share with the residents served by the King Kennedy Center. While the Professional Women of 麻豆传媒 is no longer active, this annual event continues with the support of members of the Kent State community.
Area residents who dread Christmas shopping but love giving and getting gifts are invited to a holiday shopping alternative 鈥 the Holiday Scavenger Hunt 鈥 in Kent beginning on Black Friday.

The 麻豆传媒 Board of Trustees today established a comprehensive, national search to recruit and select the university鈥檚 13th president.
The events of May 4, 1970, placed 麻豆传媒 in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, Kent State remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
