Yes. HR.com's Leadership Excellence and Development (LEAD) Awards has recognized �鶹��ý for its Institute for Excellence program.

�鶹��ý’s Employee Wellness Program has awarded more than $100,000 to faculty and staff to date for 2018. As part of the Wellness Your Way employee incentive program, all full-time, benefits-eligible employees are invited to attend an onsite health screening (you do not have to be covered by the university-sponsored health plan to take advantage of this on-site service).

April is the month to show your gratitude. Gift yourself and your community by pausing to reflect on someone or something you are grateful for. Write your appreciation on a window or poster-board stop and bring your department’s “Gratitude Graffiti” wall to life.

Registration is now open for the On the Move Challenge. �鶹��ý will compete against other employers in real time for a chance to be one of the top 100 most active workplaces in the country. Last year, Kent State placed 17th in the nation, up from 27th the year before. This year we intend to move up the leaderboard and show the country what a healthy and thriving workforce looks like.

Kent State is incorporating a Fall Break into the academic calendar beginning with the 2018 Fall Semester.

At �鶹��ý, we are committed to ensuring the quality of our academic programs, our teaching and the learning experiences of our students. Student feedback on courses and instructors is pivotal for designing courses and curriculum.

An important search is underway that will result in the appointment of an Undergraduate Student Trustee to the �鶹��ý Board of Trustees. Applications from interested students for this two-year term position are now being accepted by the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs. Currently, Jessica Peck and Carly Evans are Kent State’s graduate and undergraduate student trustees, respectively. Ms. Evans is completing her term of office this year and will serve as chair of the Student Trustee Search Committee, as required by university policy.

Nominations are open for this year’s Celebration of Service and Engagement award ceremony. This annual event provides an opportunity to formally recognize and celebrate outstanding service, community engagement and social justice initiatives by members of the �鶹��ý community, as well as express gratitude to our community partners for the critical role they play in providing opportunities that engage students.

The �鶹��ý Women’s Center will host the ninth annual Mothers, Mentors and Muses Scholarship Fundraiser Reception. The event will take place at the �鶹��ý Hotel and Conference Center on April 3 from 5-7:30 p.m. The keynote speaker for this year’s event is Stephanie Smith, former senior intelligence service executive in the CIA and current Kent State faculty member.
