Kent City Schools awarded its March Collaborative Organization of the Month to 鶹ý’s Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion’s Diversity Education and Training Lab.
The Diversity Education and Training Lab promotes dialogue and helps develop inclusion in various environments. The lab also touches on topics such as microaggressions, cultural competency and discrimination. Lisa Givan, associate director of diversity training, oversees and serves as lead facilitator within the lab.
Marie Bukowski is the new director of 鶹ý’s School of Art. Bukowski comes to Kent State from the School of Art and Design at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where she served as director for four years. She also was employed at the School of Art at Louisiana Tech University, where she held a variety of positions over the course of 13 years, including professor of art, graduate program coordinator and B.F.A. Studio program coordinator.
鶹ý students will soon have a unique opportunity to gain professional money management experience. Starting in the fall, the 鶹ý Foundation will effectively start “hiring” the students to manage current investable assets.
The Student Managed Investment Fund will be the first of its kind at Kent State. The purpose is to give students real-world experience and advance career opportunities.
