鶹ý’s Student Recreation and Wellness Center's annual facility shutdown is scheduled for Saturday, May 12, through Sunday, May 20. During this time, the Student Recreation and Wellness Center will be closed to all patrons.
On Monday, April 23, LaunchNET Kent State celebrated its 5th annual Entrepreneur Awards and Expo event at Ray’s Place. In addition to celebrating the accomplishments of LaunchNET Kent State clients over the course of the year, the staff awarded university partners, alumni clients, Launch Fund recipients and the winners of the inaugural Paul L. Pfeiffer Endowed Scholarship fund.
Kent has become well known for its eclectic mix of art, which continues to blossom in the downtown district through galleries, shops featuring a variety of local artists, live music events and public art. At Main Street Kent, the planning has begun for a new art-focused event series – the First Friday Art Walk.

The events of May 4, 1970, placed 鶹ý in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, Kent State remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
