鶹ý’s Employee Wellness Program has awarded more than $100,000 to faculty and staff to date for 2018. As part of the Wellness Your Way employee incentive program, all full-time, benefits-eligible employees are invited to attend an onsite health screening (you do not have to be covered by the university-sponsored health plan to take advantage of this on-site service).

An important search is underway that will result in the appointment of an Undergraduate Student Trustee to the 鶹ý Board of Trustees. Applications from interested students for this two-year term position are now being accepted by the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs. Currently, Jessica Peck and Carly Evans are Kent State’s graduate and undergraduate student trustees, respectively. Ms. Evans is completing her term of office this year and will serve as chair of the Student Trustee Search Committee, as required by university policy.
Nominations are open for this year’s Celebration of Service and Engagement award ceremony. This annual event provides an opportunity to formally recognize and celebrate outstanding service, community engagement and social justice initiatives by members of the 鶹ý community, as well as express gratitude to our community partners for the critical role they play in providing opportunities that engage students.
The 鶹ý Women’s Center will host the ninth annual Mothers, Mentors and Muses Scholarship Fundraiser Reception. The event will take place at the 鶹ý Hotel and Conference Center on April 3 from 5-7:30 p.m. The keynote speaker for this year’s event is Stephanie Smith, former senior intelligence service executive in the CIA and current Kent State faculty member.
The 鶹ý Board of Trustees today established a comprehensive, national search to recruit and select the university’s 13th president.
The events of May 4, 1970, placed 鶹ý in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, Kent State remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
