Program Highlights

For a semester or academic year exchange at Dankook, students enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours of academic courses taught in English. Courses are offered in the fields of Business, Engineering, Humanities, Korean Language and Culture, Political Science, and more. Students can also participate in the language tutoring program, which involves teaching an English conversation class for 24 hours throughout the semester; at the conclusion of the semester, students will receive a reward of 1,000,000 Korean won to cover on-campus accommodation expenses for the semester.

For the summer, students have the opportunity to participate in a four-week academic exchange program where they will enroll in six credit hours (two classes). Summer course offerings vary from one year to the next but typically include courses in Business, Communication, Fashion, History, Korean Language and Culture, and more. Kent State students can also apply to participate in the  three-week long teaching internship program called the "Global Village" that takes place before the academic program. In the Global Village, students teach English language skills and practice conversation with Dankook students for 60 hours. At the conclusion of the Global Village and before the academic program begins, students who have successfully completed the requirements will be provided with an airfare scholarship valued at up to $1000 USD.

If you have an interest in expanding your intercultural communication skills, interacting with local students, and engaging in an enriching language exchange, Dankook University is an ideal program for you!
