Global Safari Fest
Travel around the world without leaving Kent State! "Safari" is a Swahili word that means, "journey" or "expedition", and at Global Safari Fest, be ready for a journey!
Global Safari Fest is the largest event we put on each year. It is hosted in collaboration with the International Student Council on the Friday of I Heart Travel Week. At this event, attendees will be given a "passport" with which they can travel to many different countries during the country fair. Then, attendees will get to taste food from around the world and watch a showcase of cultural performances.
The event is free to attend and open to all students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Come celebrate the global community at Kent State, learn more about the world, make new connections, and have fun at this year's Global Safari Fest!
Global Safari Fest 2025
Date: Friday, February 14
Time: 5-8pm
Location: Kent Student Center Ballroom
Be involved in Global Safari Fest 2025!
Students can be involved by hosting a table to showcase their home country or the country they studied abroad in. They can also be involved by performing during the cultural talent showcase.
We are accepting sign ups until Sunday, January 26. If you would like to submit a recipe to be considered for our meal, though, those can only be submitted until Sunday, January 12.
Students and community members may remember this event by a different name. In years previous, we have hosted this event in the Fall instead of the Spring and called it International Homecoming Celebration. Below you can see what Global Safari Fest will be like by watching a video of last year's International Homecoming Celebration.
