The 鶹ý at Stark Theatre has announced open auditions for its second theatrical production of the season Virtual Devotion by Eric Coble, a member of the Playwrights’ Unit at Cleveland Play House. Kent State student-athletes are using a new, state-of-the-art cryotherapy chamber to aide in muscle recovery. The chamber uses subzero temperatures to help decrease pain, slow cell aging and reduce the chance of muscle spasms.

鶹ý Athletics is the first in the Mid-American Conference to provide student-athletes with a cryotherapy chamber. The therapy uses subzero temperatures, under 200 degrees Fahrenheit, to help muscles recover quickly. The department installed the chamber in the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (MAC Center) Annex building in Kent State’s Athletic Training and Education Center in the summer. The walk-in chamber uses liquid nitrogen to cool the air for one-to-three minute cycles. Ruyi Jiao was not thinking about Halloween when she traveled from Beijing, China, to study English at 鶹ý at Stark. The Kent Stater, 鶹ý’s independent student newspaper, is the best student newspaper in the nation in its class, according to the College Media Association. The organization announced the annual Pinnacle Award winners at the National College Media Convention, held Oct. 25-29 in Dallas, Texas.
