Spring 2018 President's & Dean's Lists The following students have been named to the Kent State Stark Dean鈥檚 List. Those students designated with a star (*) have been named to the 麻豆传媒 President鈥檚 List. Requirements for the Dean鈥檚 List include a 3.40 grade point average or above for the spring 2018 semester and at least 12 letter-graded (A, B, etc.) credit hours completed by the end of the semester. Associate Professor Jeanne Marie Stumpf-Carome was awarded the Connie Towson Ford Teaching Fellowship from the Cleveland Museum of Art for the 2018-19 academic year. The Teaching Fellowship begins in July and will continue through the year.   The stated goals of the Fellowship are to: Explore methodologies of gallery teaching and object-based learning experiences. Mason Shuman receives the 2017-18 Distinguished Teaching Award at the Kent State Stark Commencement Ceremony on May 13.

Success for Mason Shuman may not always be an 鈥淎鈥 on a student鈥檚 transcript. Leaving her premature daughter in the NICU was devastating for Stephanie Hann. Looking out over the Grand Canyon into the vast, wide-open space, Demi Edwards felt at peace. The gorge that could humble any soul with its breathtaking expanse, wrapped her in comfort, making big problems seem small, and solutions within reach. On May 13, Rodney Hubbard, age 45, graduated with a bachelor's degree from Kent State Stark's fastest-growing program, music technology.

Rodney Hubbard considered study at a university, but instead he found himself behind a piano.  Drawn to the ivories, he unwrapped his musical gift on the black and white keys. First, at his father鈥檚 church in inner city Cleveland, then traveling with renowned gospel groups and touring the world as principal pianist for the 1990s R&B group Jodeci. His journey led him to serve as minister of music at several churches in Northeast Ohio, including The Word Church in Cleveland.
