Annual Assessment Report

Expectations

Each year, all academic degree programs must submit a programmatic assessment report by September 30 (based on the previous academic year). The report typically includes an overview of the academic program’s mission, key learning outcomes, measures to assess progress toward learning outcomes, and a description of how the assessment data are used by the program for improvement (e.g., teaching, delivery of course).

The Office of the Provost is asking academic units to complete their annual programmatic reports using the assessment platform, Planning & Self-Study (PSS) by Watermark. A guide (PDF) is available to assist in completing the assessment report.

Feedback

An Advisory Committee for Academic Assessment (ACAA) subcommittee created an assessment report rubric (PDF) to provide feedback to programs on their assessment plans, results and action plans as reported in the assessment platform. ACAA's goal is to provide feedback to as many programs as possible on their assessment planning processes. Please note that the emphasis is on the outcome structure, measurements and actions reported in the assessment plan, not whether the results or findings met the target achievements. ACAA will annually release general announcements and recommendations on program assessment across the university.

The Office of Accreditation, Assessment and Learning, within the Office of the Provost, is available to consult with programs to assist with the planning and completion of assessment reports. Please contact AAL Assessment.
