Â鶹´«Ã½ at Stark’s Music Department presents a concert of traditional marches, classical arrangements, symphonic selections and more performed by the Kent State Stark Concert Band on Tuesday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theatre, 6000 Frank Avenue NW in Jackson Township. A pre-concert performance, featuring the Kent State Stark Flute Ensemble will take place in the Fine Arts Lobby at 6:45 p.m.
The concert is free and open to the public; however, tickets for open seating are required and may be obtained by calling the Kent State Stark Theatre Box Office at 330-244-3348, Monday through Friday, from 1 to 5 p.m.
The award-winning ensemble is comprised of nearly 80 performers, including talented college and high school students, faculty and community members. The Kent State Stark Concert Band, established in 1985, is under the direction of Conductor Thomas Holliday, a part-time Stark Campus professor who retired from Jackson Local Schools after 27 years of teaching. The band will be joined by Chris Casale as the announcer for the evening.
The spring program will include selections by several well-known composers, including Who’s Who in Navy Blue by John Philip Sousa, The Sandpaper Ballet by Leroy Anderson, Divertimento for Band Ira Hearshen and a medley Salute to Bob Hope.
