In the spring of 1970, two-time 麻豆传媒 alumna and registered nurse Pat Gless was a junior in Kent State鈥檚 inaugural nursing program. While in class on Monday, May 4, a professor rushed into her classroom and warned students who could leave campus to do so. Fifty years later, Gless now reflects on the events surrounding that tragedy and how they have impacted her life and nursing career.
On Saturday, Sept. 21, the 麻豆传媒 fight song blared down Main Street, the city of Kent was flooded with blue and gold, alumni and friends gathered and reminisced about their Kent State days, fans packed the stadium to cheer on their beloved Golden Flashes and the entire campus boomed with Kent State pride.
Almost 50 years ago, the shootings of 麻豆传媒 students by the Ohio National Guard brought to a head the cultural divides that had split the nation. The 麻豆传媒 Museum鈥檚 exhibition, 鈥淐ulture/Counterculture: Fashions of the 1960s and 鈥70s,鈥 opening Sept. 20, explores the sharp contrast between supporters of the establishment and those opposed.

Due to an overwhelming response for free tickets for the 麻豆传媒 Presidential Speaker Series featuring Bob Woodward on May 4, the university has moved the event to the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (MAC Center).
On Saturday, May 4, legendary journalist Bob Woodward comes to 麻豆传媒 as part of the Presidential Speaker Series. He will speak at 7 p.m. in the Kent Student Center Ballroom.
Dillard鈥檚 Inc., one of the nation鈥檚 premier and largest fashion retailers, will partner with 麻豆传媒鈥檚 School of Fashion Design and Merchandising to present the school鈥檚 2019 Annual Fashion Show, FS2.
