Behind the Scenes of Kent State's Special Thank You Spot

Flashes quarterback Dustin Crum prepares for his shot during Kent State's latest commercial airing during football games this season.
“We recognize the most important members of our team aren't on the football field” Kent State President Todd Diacon said in a honoring the university’s MVPs – our front line employees.

The video included Golden Flashes quarterback Dustin Crum, wide receiver Isaac Vance and defensive end Zayin West who each thanked those who continue to work behind the scenes and on the frontline to keep the Kent State community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. This commercial was produced by Kent State's University Communications and Marketing staff.

West shouted out Michelle Brautigan, Administrative Clerk for Resident Services, Joshua Dedeaux, Chef Manager, and Angela Neal-Barnett, Professor of Psychology for all they do for the University.

Kent State wide receiver Isaac Vance takes direction from a director while filming his shots for the thank you commercial airing during football games this season.

Vance thanked Andrea Smith, Groundskeeper, Zipporah Cole, Custodial Worker, and Metin Erin, Assistant Professor of Anthropology, for keeping Kent State safe and healthy.

President Diacon ended the commercial by sincerely thanking “all Kent State frontline workers and professors for their outstanding efforts to ensure a safe and healthy educational experience for all Golden Flashes.”

This video recognizing and thanking these Kent State MVPs debuted on and first aired on television Nov. 4 on ESPN+ during the team’s season opening win over Eastern Michigan.
