July 2021 Social Media Recap

This summer has been flying by and before you know it, we’ll be back on campus for a new and exciting semester! We’ve had many social posts and updates throughout this month. Here’s a look at some of our top-performing posts. 

 

Instagram

 

The top post on Instagram this month was our video celebrating the Fourth of July. This post received about 4,000 views and 1,152 likes. Our social and creative teams had fun creating this unique project to celebrate the holiday.

 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 

The newly added sculpture “Tower of Squares” by Owen Morrel was a hit on our Instagram. This post got 1,123 likes and 5 comments. The sculpture is located in front of the new Design Innovation Hub, adding another unique piece of artwork to the Kent Campus. 

 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 

Facebook

 

The post with the highest engagement on a Facebook post was our story featuring the Kent State graduates competing in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. We had five athletes representing four countries in the games, which broke the school’s previous record of four athletes competing. This post had 1,790 reactions!

 

 

 

A post encouraging students to get their COVID-19 vaccine was another top-performing item. This update informed students that by registering their vaccination status, they could win a semester of free tuition, an Apple Watch and many other prizes. Don’t forget to register your vaccination status for a chance to win!

 

 

 

Twitter

 

Like Facebook, the top-performing post on Twitter was the feature about the five Golden Flashes alumni participating in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The tweet received 77 likes and 21 retweets!

 

 

Our second most popular tweet was our post celebrating the Fourth of July, featuring a video that used sparklers and a pixel stick to provide a unique visual element to the post. This video got 49 likes and 7 retweets.
