The Wick Poetry Center encourages new voices by promoting opportunities for individuals and communities locally, regionally and nationally. Wick engages emerging and established poets and poetry audiences through readings, publications, workshops and scholarship opportunities.
We support the University's strategic goals by serving as the collection agent for the university and by performing its functions timely and accurately with a professional and courteous demeanor to students, parents, other university departments and external agencies.
Due to the high demand for parking, permits for most preferred lots near the core of campus sell out quickly, however, there are always permits available. We recommend that you purchase a permit from your available options even if your first or second choice is not available. This may be limited to the “Summit East” or “Allerton Sports Complex” parking lots for commuters or the “Stadium” parking lot for residence hall students.

Step Up and Speak Out is a collaborative effort of Kent State facilitated by the CARES Center in partnership with Counseling and Psychological Services, CARES Center, the Office of the Dean of Students and Police Services and intended to better educate university community members on how to assist distressed or disruptive individuals. Step Up and Speak Out provides greater awareness of mental health concerns, including risk factors for suicide. This suicide prevention campaign represents a collaborative effort of 鶹ý Counseling and Psychological Services, University Health Services, the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, and Police Services and aims to support individuals in need by educating university community members on protocols and resources designed to assist in disruptive situations or with distressed individuals.
Three federal TRIO Upward Bound programs that seek to increase educational opportunities and diminish barriers for first-generation, low income students and families through comprehensive services in targeted school districts.
The mission of the Student Multicultural Center (SMC) is to cultivate a sense of belonging and cultural affirmation for our students.
