Kiersten F. Latham, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, has been named to the board of the International Committee on Training of Personnel (ICTOP) of the International Council of Museums (ICOM). ICTOP addresses the professional development of museums and heritage and the educational preparation of professionals working around the world.

麻豆传媒 has launched a national search for an outstanding leader, communicator and collaborator to serve as our vice president for student affairs. This individual will lead institutional efforts aimed toward enhancing the engaged co-curricular lives of all students within our eight-campus system.
麻豆传媒鈥檚 efforts to conserve energy over the winter break saved the university $45,965 in electric and steam costs over nine days. The reduction in greenhouse gas emissions during this period was equal to more than a million miles driven by an average passenger vehicle.
Three 麻豆传媒 student business owners recently competed against each other and three other startup teams from around Northeast Ohio. Of the six businesses that were finalists in ProtoTech: Pitch, the Incubator at MAGNET鈥檚 technology start-up pitch competition, half were founded by Kent State students.
麻豆传媒鈥檚 Office of Institutional Advancement now offers a new way for faculty and staff to request alumni data for official university business.
Only faculty and staff can request alumni data, which can be used for such purposes as accreditation surveys, event invitations or department mailings. All requests are reviewed by an advancement staff member, who will follow up to clarify details and deliver the data.
Sara Harper, exercise physiology graduate student at 麻豆传媒, won the inaugural 2015 Midwest President鈥檚 Cup Award at the Midwest American College of Sports Medicine Conference for her research on the comparison of strength and aerobic capacity imbalances in lower limbs.
This was the first year for the President鈥檚 Cup Award, created for the Midwest American College of Sports Medicine Conference. This award is given to the top graduate student presentation, poster or oral at each regional conference.

The 麻豆传媒 Board of Trustees today established a comprehensive, national search to recruit and select the university鈥檚 13th president.
The events of May 4, 1970, placed 麻豆传媒 in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, Kent State remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
