Helping From Home

As the world continues to deal with "stay-at-home" orders, Kent State rising senior and field hockey defender has found a way to help others from the comforts of home.

Rodriguez Seto has joined a volunteer group that is sewing medical masks and delivering them to be sanitized at the City Hall of Sant Cugat, her hometown just north of Barcelona.

"I wanted to help with this emergency situation and was looking for ways to contribute," Rodriguez Seto said. "In Spain, we are not allowed outside of our houses, my teammate Helena Cambra, showed me the opportunity and I knew sewing was the perfect way to help."

The volunteer group has partnered with Robin Hat, a medical retailer just outside of Barcelona. Robin Hat is helping distribute the caps to all medical personnel at hospitals and nursing homes.

"These are difficult times for all and as a team we are committed to doing our part to helping with the spread of COVID-19," head coach said. "Clara has just taken it one step further and it is very rewarding to see her be able to positively impact her community in Sant Cugat. "

Rodriguez Seto is coming off an All-Conference and All-Region season where she led the Golden Flashes with 24 points.
